An Innokin kit is often picked from a photo or a battery figure. That overlooks what matters most once it is bought, the consumable you will need to replace for the whole life of the device. The catalogue mixes pods with sealed cartridges, pods with replaceable coils and mods with a tank, and those families do not cross over. We compare the range here on four criteria, format, consumable, battery and output, before giving a verdict for each type of vaper.

Which Innokin kit to choose, the answer in three families

The right Innokin kit depends first on the consumable family. Klypse, Trine and EZ Leva pods run on cartridges with a built-in coil, replaced as a whole. Both the Zyon and the Coolfire PZPulse take PZP coils, which swap inside a pod you keep. The EZ Tube, Kroma Z, Gozee, Coolfire Z60 and Coolfire Z80 NEX use Z-Coils fitted in a tank.

A cartridge family is enough for a tight draw with no settings to learn. Anyone who wants to move from a tight draw to a looser one with a single device will find the widest choice among the Z-Coil kits. For direct lung vaping, the Coolfire PZPulse, built for that style, reaches 80 W, as does the Coolfire Z80 NEX with its removable cell.

The figures below come from the manufacturer’s product pages, model by model. Capacity is the standard figure unless stated otherwise, and the UK section that follows explains what changes on British shelves.

What changes for an Innokin kit sold in the UK

British rules reshape several lines of that table. A refillable tank or pod is capped at 2 ml in the UK, and nicotine e-liquid is limited to 20 mg/ml in bottles of 10 ml at most, so every figure above 2 ml belongs to versions sold elsewhere.

The manufacturer states a 2 ml TPD version for the Kroma Z and the EZ Tube. For the Coolfire Z80 NEX, the global kit ships with the new Zenith NEX tank, while the UK version comes with the Zenith M tank instead, a detail worth checking before ordering spare glass. Both tanks take Z-Coils, so the coil choice stays the same.

Innokin cartridge kits, Klypse, Trine and EZ Leva

This family is built for simplicity, with a cartridge whose coil is part of the unit. You replace the whole cartridge when the flavour fades, without handling a coil.

Klypse Pro, the draw-activated pod

The Klypse Pro fires when you draw, its single button being used to set the wattage and check the side screen. It handles mouth to lung vaping, or MTL, where vapour is held in the mouth first, and restricted direct lung, or RDL. Its 1000 mAh battery runs three Klypse cartridges, 0.6 ohm at 20 to 22 W, 0.8 ohm at 12 to 13 W and 1.2 ohm at 11 to 12 W, and the box holds a 0.6 and a 0.8 ohm.

Trine, Trine SE and Trine Q, three pods and two standards

The Trine series stands out with a removable battery that you can swap for a charged spare. Both the Trine and the Trine SE share the same 2 ml VCAP cartridge and the same battery model, the 1000 mAh B1000. The Trine Q changes both, with a QCAP cartridge and a 1050 mAh B1050 battery, and moves to button firing. Before buying spares, check the reference of both the battery and the cartridge.

EZ Leva, the tightest format

The EZ Leva sticks to two cartridges, 1.2 ohm and 1.6 ohm, between 9 and 12 W, for a pure MTL draw. Its stated 2400 mAh splits into 400 and 2000 mAh, for 102 g, with sensor firing and no button, and charging by USB-C or on a magnetic wireless dock.

PZP coil kits, Zyon and Coolfire PZPulse

Here the pod stays and only the coil changes. That middle ground throws away less plastic than a whole cartridge while staying simpler than a tank.

Zyon, the pod with a swappable coil

The Zyon pairs a 1300 mAh battery and 6 to 25 W of output with PZP coils of 0.6 ohm (18 to 24 W), 1.0 ohm (9 to 13 W) and 1.2 ohm (10 to 13 W). A rotating ring sets the airflow, and the body is zinc alloy.

Coolfire PZPulse, the 80 W pod mod

The PZPulse targets direct lung vaping, with PZP Max coils of 0.6 ohm (18 to 23 W), 0.4 ohm (40 to 60 W) and 0.2 ohm (60 to 80 W). Its 2400 mAh battery charges at 5 V and 2 A, reaching 80% in one hour. PZP Max coils are presented as specific to this device, so look for the Max label before buying coils.

Z-Coil Innokin kits, the most open family

The Z-Coil range offers eight coils, so a single tank can move from a tight draw to a looser one. It is the brand’s most flexible family, shared by pods, a tube and mods.

EZ Tube and Kroma Z, two compact formats

The EZ Tube sets its output from 6 to 40 W by twisting the body, with 2100 mAh and a Zenith M tank supplied with 0.3 ohm (30 to 40 W) and 0.8 ohm (15 to 18 W) Z-Coils. The Kroma Z carries the same two coils but packs 3000 mAh, accepts 0.2 to 3.5 ohms and adjusts airflow with a slider, from MTL to RDL.

Coolfire Z60, Coolfire Z80 NEX and Gozee, the mods

With 2500 mAh, or 9.25 Wh, the Coolfire Z60 reaches 60 W and takes a Zlide Top tank fitted with a 0.6 ohm coil for MTL between 9 and 13 W, on a 510 thread. More powerful, the Coolfire Z80 NEX runs on an 18650 cell sold separately, reaches 80 W and fills from the top. The Gozee, a third Z-Coil mod, has its full sheet in our Innokin Gozee kit review against the NEX.

Our verdict for each type of vaper

The winner of this comparison is the Kroma Z. Its 3000 mAh battery, the largest built-in cell in the table, and its 0.2 to 3.5 ohm range cover almost every draw style with one coil family.

FAQ

These questions come up among vapers comparing the brand’s kits before a first purchase.

Can you fit another brand’s tank on an Innokin mod?

Yes on mods with a 510 connection, such as the Coolfire Z60. The mod reads the resistance of the fitted coil, as long as it stays within its range, 0.2 to 3.5 ohms on that model. Cartridge pods only accept their own cartridges.

What does TPD mean on an Innokin listing?

TPD refers to the Tobacco Products Directive, the European rules the UK carried into its own regulations. A TPD version respects their limits, including the 2 ml tank. A listing that only shows 4 or 5 ml describes the standard version made for other markets.

Is Innokin a Chinese brand?

Yes. The brand’s website gives an address in Shenzhen, China, sales in more than 80 countries and over ten years of experience in vaping.

How do you charge two Trine batteries at once?

With the Trine Power Hub, a charger sold separately and designed for the Trine series. It charges two batteries at the same time, outside the pod. Charge under supervision, on a clear surface.

Does an Innokin kit suit nicotine salts?

Coils of 0.8 ohm and above, set at low output, belong to the tight draw that salts are made for. At 30 W and beyond, 0.3 or 0.2 ohm coils are better matched to a freebase e-liquid at a low strength.

Innokin kit, pick the consumable family before the model

The models compared here fall into three families that do not mix, cartridges, PZP coils and Z-Coils. Format, battery and output then separate the candidates within one family, and in the UK the 2 ml tank applies to all of them.

Choosing an Innokin kit therefore means choosing first what you will keep replacing, then the device that carries it, a habit worth keeping for every piece of hardware we cover on this site.
